This is for those of us who would rather wear dog tags than diamonds.
For those of us who still sleep with stuffed animals, just because he got them for us.
This goes out to those of us who never lets go of her cell phone.
This goes out to those of us whose heart swells with pride every time the national anthem is played.
This goes out to the proud women who stand tall behind a United States soldier.
We sit and we wait, for a letter, for a phone call, and for the lucky ones, a homecoming.
Many people don’t understand this life; they say it’s unfair, they say they couldn’t do it.
Well, here is our response....
Do not tell us you’re sorry, or that you know how we feel.
Don’t try to make us laugh when we’re sad, we don’t want to laugh, we’d rather sit and think about our man.
We may not be “happy” with all of this, but we don’t mind waiting.
To us, it’s an honor.
We are the girls who wake up every morning with a sick feeling in her stomach; we’re the ones who just lay there for a minute to prepare ourselves for the day ahead.
We’re the ones who look forward to going to sleep; because they are with us in our dreams.
We are the ones you see wearing a sweatshirt or t-shirt that is 2 sizes too big just because it’s his.
This is for those of us who’s best friends they have never met; we meet them on myspace or support groups.
They are those only ones who understand.
This goes out to the women who spend holidays alone, this is for those of us who take pictures to send to our men when we wear a cute outfit or have a good hair day.
We know the real meaning of love, its not cute presents or formal dinners; its hearing his voice, it’s seeing him for the first time in many months.
For those of us that know what a chow hall is, those of us that know terms like head, rack and porthole.
This is for those of us who belong to a United State soldier.
You may see us struggle but you will never see us fall.
We are among the silent ranks; we are the few, the proud, the ones left behind.
We are bonded together by the United States Army.
Our men are brothers, a family of one.
Each one of us have one of the few.
We stand tall and we stand strong.
We stand behind our soldiers through thick and thin.
We are the girls of the United States Army
You have extra hours of
Duty in my room!
I may wear the glass slippers..
but my hero wears combat boots
Whenever life seems to drift you away from me,
I can't help but cry. You've grown to be such a part of me that without you life is no more than a desperate sigh.
They do say love comes and goes, and to that I disagree. So, here's my hand, take it and don't let go of me.
In her love I am the hero, the king,the poet;
and alive without her love, I am nothing at all, not even truly alive.
It takes a second to say I love you,
but a lifetime to show it
When you're in love with someone it inspires you and gives you hope.
You have faith that even if you can't be with them on earth, that if God wills, you will be with them one day in heaven.
They look ordinary
They lace up just the same
But it's not the boots that matter
It's my soldier in the boots
that means the world to me.
You're not home to watch me grow or feel me kick,
but I love you Daddy, you're my hero & I can't wait to meet you!
Deployments last a few months
but our love lasts..forever
This deployment only makes me
love you more.
At night when I go to sleep
Theres an empty spot
where you should be.
When you're gone
This house is just a home.
I call home in your arms.
The girl he left behind
is still behind him.
Supporting her hero.
I just want to hug you, but your are 480 some miles away,
what I wouldn't do for a hug.
And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.
Before I sleep and after I wake up and all the hours in between ...
you occupy my mind.
So, practically every moment of the day you are in my thoughts. I miss you.
Well she was an american girl raised on promises
She couldn’t help thinking that there was a little more to life
Somewhere else after all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to yeah, and if she had to die trying
She had one little promise she was gonna keep
I was Brave today,
because I thought of you
& how you always believed in me.
Thank you Love
we all die. the goal isn't to live forever.
the goal is to create something that will.
in my lifetime, i've come to realize that you can't depend upon other people for what you want. & you can't be scared to go out there & get it. you have to dream big, wish hard, & chase after your goals. because no one is going to do it for you.
People always wanna talk bad about a Soldier!
-Are you rocking dog tags?
-Have you woke up countless times wondering if you're gonna make it home?
-Do you risk ur life EVERYDAY in another COUNTRY for all Americans?
-Yet you love the freedom & country
You have & live in everyday
-So next time you talk about a Soldier think about all the things
YOU have Because of them, and just remember
The ones who talk bad are the ones
Who COULDN'T last a day in the shoes of a - U.S. Army Soldier
Blowing kisses into the wind,
I hope they find you wherever you are,
I hope you catch them from this far
When he's gone,
I live for these three words.
I'm coming home =]
Months, weeks & days have gone by but no worries we’ve got time to make it up
"The world sees a man going to war to fight for his country and
so much more, but what they don't see are the ones left behind, but
to her/him it doesn't matter because in the end, all she/he sees is
her/his hero, her/his daddy, her/his whole world. In one hug, one
kiss and one stare, she/he will remind him of what he's fighting for."
I am a military girlfriend. I hold no formal recognition with the powers that be. I am at the bottom of the chain. I hold no Military ID card, I am not a "dependent" or a parent. The man I love may face unspeakable dangers, and I am at the mercy of those who possess this recognition for news. I understand this and accept this.
I am a military girlfriend. I have promised to be here for him upon his return, no matter how long he is away. People may say I am insane for making such a commitment with no guarantees, but I hold onto our promises and have faith that he will come home safe to me. I know full well that my love for him fuels him in the worst of times.
I am a military girlfriend, there is no ring on my finger to symbolize our commitment, though I love him no less for it. I hope every day that he will be able call because a simple 30-second phone call can bring the greatest spectrum of emotions smiling with tears in my eyes from so much joy and pain. My relationship is based on a brief communication where "I love you and I’m okay" speaks more than volumes and gives me the strength to keep going.
I am a military girlfriend. I take no moment spent together for granted. I hold onto every touch, caress, kiss, every word. I have memorized the feel of his skin, his smell, the sound of his voice, and I play it over and over in my mind so that I will not forget. I cry myself to sleep some nights because missing him hurts so badly, but wake up the next morning, brush myself off, and start a new day.
I am a military girlfriend. The events of the next several months hold my life, my love, and my future in the balance. When you watch the news reports, you may turn away and go about your business relatively unaffected. When I watch news stories of the war I do not see nameless soldiers a half a world away. I see individuals who will be forever changed by war. News of every casualty causes me physical pain and deep sadness.
I am a military girlfriend, not a spouse or family member. When you say your prayers for the wives, mothers, and fathers, please don’t forget about me.
It isn't about the
the fancy cars
or the big house...
Its all about the
This will be the first time in a week, that i'll talk to you and i can't
speak. It's been 3 whole days since I've had sleep cause I dream of your lips
on my cheeks... I miss the lips that made me fly
When my daddy goes to work,
He's always dressed in green.
He has to be, because you see,
He's a United States Marine.
When my daddy has to go away,
to protect some far off land,
Mommy and I will wait and pray,
to again hold daddy's hand.
You don't become a hero
You become a hero because of who you are
Because of what you do.
Roses are red,
cammies are green,
I'm in love with a US Marine
If you think marines are tough..
..You should met their girls!
Home is where the military sends us <33
Crazy enough to love a man in the military.
My man rocks the cammies !!
I keep his dogtags
close to my heart.
My heart is deployed
and I want it back
My heart is at bootcamp
and I want it back
Baby, how's our little baby girl
does she know her daddy's half way round the world
tell her she is my heart
---Brian McKnight ft. Rascal Flatts
Wherever you go
I will be waiting
Whenever you call
I will be there
Whatever it takes
I'll make your darkest days
I'm in your heart tonight
America is not at war
The Marine Corps is
America is at the mall
Heroes are the ones that don't come back.
oceans apart day after day,
and i slowly go insane.
i hear your voice on the line,
but it doesn't stop the pain.
God welcomed you home
after you fought in the war.
Have yourself a Merry Christmas in Heaven <3
